Notable achievements:

1927 – Built a ‘snowboggan’ that resembled present-day snowmobile

1929 – Converted Model A Ford chassis to a snowmobile, with tracks

1929 – started restoring cars, a passion that continued for more than 47 years during which time he completed at least 15 projects

September 18, 1966 – founded the New Brunswick Antique Auto Club

Of special interest:

A maritime pioneer in collecting and restoring antique automobiles

Recognized in New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, and Maine as a leading authority on vintage vehicles

First car he drove was a 1912 Reo

Had a passion for experimenting with automobiles in making alterations and improvements

Started a road building business in 1929, retiring from it after 45 years to continue until 1981 as a leading consultant on asphalt paving in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia

Gordon Armstrong passed away September 28, 1983
