A sod-turning ceremony took place to officially mark the start of construction on the new Maritime Motor Sports Hall of Fame, with the support of over $500,000 from the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency, and $250,000 from the Province of New Brunswick. The year-round centre will showcase the history of all competitive and recreational motor sports in the region, and promote safe participation in those sports.
